How we make money
Most senior-care websites bury this. We lead with it, because how a site is funded tells you whose interest it serves.
What we will never do
We do not take referral fees or any payment from care facilities. No facility can pay to be listed, rated higher, ranked, or have its violations hidden. This is the exact practice we built Ellery Care to counter, so we refuse to do it.
How we actually fund the site
- Affiliate recommendations for consumer products. When we recommend something like a medical alert system and you buy it, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Some of these are Amazon links, and as an Amazon Associate, Ellery Care earns from qualifying purchases. These links are always labeled, and the recommendation never depends on the commission.
- Our own educational guides. We sell plain-English planning guides (for example, a Texas Care Funding Playbook explaining Medicaid spend-down and the homestead exemption). These are educational and are not legal or financial advice.
That's the whole model. Because none of it depends on where your parent receives care, we have no reason to steer you anywhere — which is the entire point.
